Bahrain Food Festival Gets Underway

In celebration of ‘Manama Gulf Capital of Tourism 2016’, the inaugural Bahrain Food Festival was launched yesterday at Block 338 in Adliya.

The 10-day event, organized by Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority, will run for ten days and is positioned as a culinary exhibition that showcases the Kingdom’s emergence as a gastronomy destination.

“The Bahrain Food Festival aims to encourage diversity, creativity and the unique multicultural nature of the Kingdom, while highlighting new and varied culinary concepts, restaurants and hospitality that the Kingdom has to offer,” said Shaikh Khaled Bin Humood Al Khalifa, Acting Chief Executive of the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority.

More than 40 preeminent outlets participating are taking part in the event including businesses and concepts related to the food industry such as restaurants, hotels, nutrition, kitchen appliances and much more.

“The event is held under the umbrella of Manama Gulf Capital of Tourism, an initiative launched to promote two-way tourism between the GCC countries,” he added.

With an aim to create an unforgettable culinary experience, the Bahrain Food Festival will offer visitors quality driven and unique repertoire of international and cultural cuisine along with a schedule of live entertainment suitable for the whole family. The festival will run daily from 5:00pm to 11:00pm including a live cooking session, magic shows and other entertainment sessions.
