Ebrahim K. Kanoo Organizes the 15th National Body and Paint Skills Contest

Ebrahim K. Kanoo, the sole distributor of Toyota and Lexus in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has organized the 15th National Body and Paint Skills Contest. The contest took place at the Toyota Body and Paint Service Centre in Arad on Thursday, April 28th 2016, which was attended by Ebrahim K. Kanoo’s top management and Toyota Bahrain Representative Office representatives, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Education, Tamkeen officials, Insurance companies, professors and students from different technical institutes in Bahrain.

This annual national contest aims at improving technical skills, motivating the technicians to retain their loyalty and enhancing the reliability and reputation of our Toyota Body and Paint Centres distributed across the Kingdom.

Mr. Ebrahim M. Kanoo, Director of Operations at Ebrahim K. Kanoo said: “Ebrahim K. Kanoo has set a benchmark in the automotive aftersales sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as we strongly believe that the development of employees is the key to meeting and surpassing customers’ expectations.”

“I hope today’s winners will also go forward to represent themselves and Ebrahim K. Kanoo in the best possible manner with professionalism and sincerity, not just in competitions but every single day in their workplace where they can lead the way in service” stated Mr. Michael Goode, Senior General Manager of Service at Ebrahim K. Kanoo.

The contestants competed in three categories, Body, Paint and Estimators, with 4 technicians in each category. The Body contestants were evaluated based on 2 skills, Panel Repair and Welding, while the Paint contestants competed in the Colour Matching and Top Coating Metallic techniques. The Estimators were tested in 3 skills, Front and Rear Damage Estimation using Audatex System, Damage Diagnosis and Vehicle Structural Diagnosis using Point – X System.

In the end, the judges announced the winners and Ebrahim K. Kanoo’s management handed over the awards to all the participants, where Mr. Vipin Kappara Vijayan, Mr. Jaffar Eid and Mr. Sayed Mustafa Majeed won the 1st place in the Body, Paint and Estimators categories respectively, all of them will represent Toyota Bahrain at the GCC Skills Contest 2016 which will be held in Bahrain later this year and at the International Skills Contest in Japan.
