Al Abraaj Restaurants Group introduces a new, homegrown brand to its culinary offerings

Launches OTTO at Hamala Hills – authentic, Italian flavours with a fresh perspective

Bahrain’s homegrown hospitality group, Al Abraaj Restaurants Group, known for its distinct culinary offerings – Al Abraaj, Mashawi Al Abraaj, Al Bindaira Café, Nu Asia, Lumee, Ya Salam!, TCBY – has now introduced a new Italian concept, OTTO – offering authentic flavours with a fresh perspective. OTTO which means ‘eight’ in Italian, marks a number of firsts in the Kingdom’s Italian culinary scene with the introduction of Italian inspired breakfast and an all-day menu focussed on slow-fermented sourdough pizzas.

Housed at the Hamala Hills shopping complex, OTTO as an Italian concept has been created under the culinary guidance of Executive Chef Filippo Pagani of the award-winning UK-based Italian restaurant group, San Carlo, featuring an all-day menu of Italian classics and favourites, curated locally by Chef Lucca Daniele and his team of talented chefs in Bahrain. Keeping the authenticity of the Italian-cuisine, the menu includes carefully sourced and imported iingredients for OTTO for its pizzas, pastas and homemade gelato. In addition to OTTO, Al Abraaj Group will be further expanding its presence in mainstream Italian-cuisine category, with the opening of San Carlo Cicchetti early next year at Al A’ali Complex.

OTTO’s unique ambiance captures the rustic nature of a traditional trattoria craftily blended with the elegance of Italian marble and furniture, will instantly make you feel at ease in its warm and inviting atmosphere. The cafe/restaurant opens its doors and garden terrace at 8 am with an “Italian inspired” breakfast menu that includes a unique assortment of savory and sweet dishes such as ricotta pancakes, Nutella calzone, a variety of egg dishes, fresh morning smoothies and much more.

OTTO’s pizzas are its main attraction; the sourdough base ferments for 48-hours and is made from a blend of the finest quality Italian stone-ground flour, topped with a San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella fior di latte from the Campania region in Southern Italy and a variety of innovative toppings. Baked in a monolithic marble-clad Neapolitan pizza oven, each pizza is freshly prepared and cooked right in front of you at the restaurant.

The restaurant’s pasta offerings feature Italian classics that are fresh yet comforting. Every meal comes to a satisfying end with a good dessert, and on the menu, are a collection including the traditional like panna cotta and tiramisu, the creative like the beetroot-carrot cake with Mascarpone cheese frosting, and nine flavors of refreshing homemade gelatos, all displayed in a gelato cart, which welcomes you at the entrance.

Last but not least, for little ones, OTTO has the perfect kidsmeal choices that includes a mini Margherita pizza accompanied with garlic bread and veggie sticks, juice and a mini-gelato.

OTTO is open daily from 8am until 11pm. Breakfast from 8am – 11.30am; Lunch & Dinner from 12pm onwards. For updates and more info, follow at Otto Bahrain on Instagram and Facebook at Otto or for bookings, contact at 1733 6622.
