Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the leading international aluminium smelters with a strong reputation for workplace safety, is conducting a series of safety, health & environment (SHE) workshops for one of its established clients – Aluminium Products Company (ALUPCO), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The SHE workshops are an initiative by the Company’s Marketing Department to enhance the existing business relation with ALUPCO by doing more than necessary and providing extra value, in addition to the technical support given by Alba. Held in conjunction with Alba’s SHE Department, the workshops aim to assist ALUPCO to augment its health, safety and environment culture.

Teams from both companies have mutually agreed on a SHE training plan to meet ALUPCO’s health and safety expectations at the workplace and cover topics such as permit to work and risk assessment, industrial hygiene, firefighting practices as well as environment protection.

Speaking about this new approach towards the clients, Alba’s Chief Marketing Officer, Khalid A. Latif said:

“Safety is a limitless journey. We believe that safety should encompass everyone, and by extending our safety knowledge to our clients, we can spread the culture of safety to our customers and beyond. In line with Alba’s expectations for 2016 and as part of our after-sales service to our customer, we are proud to have delivered the first safety training. I thank the SHE department for their efforts to help make this initiative a success.”

The first in the series of workshops to be conducted by Alba teams was a safety training workshop titled ‘Incident Investigation Course’, which was well appreciated by the ALUPCO Management. The agreed training plan will soon be implemented at the ALUPCO’s Jeddah plant.
