The American Chamber of Commerce Bahrain (AmCham) organized a tour of the U.S. home textile manufacturing company, WestPoint Home, for 20 Law and Business students from Polytechnic University. Polytechnic Law Tutors Ms. Teresa Chacko and Ms. Yasmin Sebah use the U.S.-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement in their curriculum so students will have an understanding of real world business issues.
WestPoint Home’s Mr. Aziz Ahmed, General Manager, Admin & Human Resources, and Mr. Imran Cheema, Managing Director, Bahrain Manufacturing & Operations began the tour with an overview of WestPoint Home’s operations in Bahrain beginning in 2006 to take advantage of the FTA’s duty free benefit. WestPoint Home exports over $100 million of home linens to the U.S. every year. Mr. Ahmed stated, “WestPoint Home appreciates the opportunity to help develop Bahrain’s future business leaders.”
