An Unparallelled Shopping Experience

The biggest nationwide shopping festival in the kingdom, the Bahrain Shopping Festival – Shop Bahrain, is set to kick off on January 19, showcasing the country’s top hospitality and tourism offerings.

Last year, over 20 shopping malls took part, resulting in BD11 million worth of shopping revenues. The second edition of the festival also saw increased visitors from the GCC and daily sales revenue rising by 30 per cent compared to the first edition. It also resulted in direct and indirect hiring of 175 Bahrainis.

Shoppers will also be enrolled in the festival’s loyalty system when purchasing directly from any participating outlet and partner allowing them to win a wide range of prizes.

Co-organised by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and Tamkeen, the 30-day festival is held in co-operation with partnership from public and private sector entities such as Gulf Air, Batelco and YK AlMoayyed.

“The third-edition of the festival aims to further drive the growth of the tourism and retail sector through a close co-operation with the hospitality sector and shopping malls. This will contribute to the development of the national economy whilst attracting tourists from the Gulf region,” said BTEA chief executive Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.
