A workshop on developing school students’ editorial skills was successfully concluded recently at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU).

Organised by the Media Unit in the university, the workshop was titled “The Arts of News Editing” and was held in cooperation with the Students Services Directorate in Education Ministry.

Supervising the workshop was Senior Media Specialist in AGU and “Durrat Al Khaleej” Magazine Editor Fatima Al Hajari, who trained the participating school students of the “Effective Education Societies” programme on different editorial skills and techniques. Around 35 female students from different schools in the Kingdom have partaken in the workshop.

The workshop comes as part of the cooperation between educational institutions in Bahrain, aiming to develop the new generations’ news sense and skills of investigation, questioning, research, writing and analysis, as well as other essential skills required in news writing such as sources verification and interviewing ability.
