Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the leading provider of digital banking services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced that it has won the “Best Digital Banking Initiative” at the MENA Banking Excellence Awards ceremony 2023. Mr. Yaser Alsharifi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB attended the ceremony in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, organized by the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED).

This award sheds light on BisB’s achievements throughout its digitization journey, including the establishment of the Bank’s ‘Innovation Lab’ which offers various new technologies dedicated to testing new products before they are launched in the market. The Bank also directed its focus towards rolling out specialized digital banking solutions to meet the needs of corporate clients, enabling startups to open and manage their accounts digitally through the “BisB Corporate Digital” application, eliminating the need to visit any of the Bank’s branches.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Yaser Alsharifi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, said: ‘We are proud to have won this prestigious award from the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED), which stands as a testament to our efforts to simplify banking transactions for both our retail and corporate customers. Accordingly, we would like to extend our congratulations to all BisB employees for their vital role in achieving this award. We would also like to thank the jury and all those in charge of organizing this event for their efforts.’

He added: “We have undertaken major steps to simplify banking transactions for our customers from the financial and corporate sectors. Companies, SMEs, and individual establishments can open and activate an account using their mobile phones without the need to visit the branch by uploading all the necessary documents through BisB Corporate Digital upon completing the commercial registration process. Companies under formation can also open an account through BisB Digital and get a certificate for depositing the capital issued digitally to complete and speed up the commercial registration activation process.”
