Bahrain witnessed the grand inauguration of the highly anticipated Asian Village Festival at Thai Mart Mall. The event, organized by Vega Intertrade and Exhibitions in collaboration with Vega Thaimart Bahrain, the ASEAN Business Council, and the Royal Thai Embassy Bahrain, aims to showcase the vibrant culture and diverse products of Asia in one central location. The festival, which will run from May 26th to June 25th, 2023, has been extended until June 30th due to popular demand.
The Asian Village Festival was inaugurated by prominent dignitaries, including Shaikh Daij bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the ASEAN Bahrain Council, and Muharraq Governor Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai. Also present at the event were Ambassador of Thailand Piyapak Sricharoen, Malaysian Ambassador Shazryll Zahiran, Philippines Ambassador Anne Jalando-on, Bangladesh Ambassador Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, and Nepal Ambassador Tirtha Raj Wagle.
With over 15 vendors participating in the festival, visitors have a plethora of showcases and products to explore. The festival offers a diverse range of native products, including fashion items, beauty care products, bags, souvenirs, accessories, arts, and delectable food options. Inspired by the renowned Global Village in Dubai, the concept for the festival was conceived by Mr. “Tony” Akavut Tangilikusonwong, CEO and Owner of Vega Intertrade and Vega Thaimart, with the aim of introducing and promoting Asian products and culture in Arab markets.
Thai Mart Mall, located in Muharraq, serves as the perfect venue for this month-long extravaganza. The event has received extensive support from the Sri Lankan Embassy, Nepal Embassy, Al Diyar Muharraq, and Dragon City. The festival welcomes visitors from 4 PM to 10 PM, providing ample time for everyone to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere and experience the richness of Asian heritage.
