Awadhi Calls to set a National plan for early retirement

Mr. Yaccob Al Awadhi, Co- founder and CEO of NGN INTL., stressed the importance of developing a national plan that will enable the private sector to receive more than 8,000 Bahraini leaving government sector soon after their early retirement, thus to ensure that their energies and experiences are will invested in the national development process instead of becoming a burden on them.

Mr. AL Awadhi appealed a call for an open summit between government officials on the one hand, and private institutions representatives on the other, with the participation of concerned bodies such as Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), Bahrain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI), Tamkeen Labor Fund and the SMEs Development Board.

“Nine thousand Bahrainis will soon leave the government sector at once, including those who are thinking of setting up a private enterprise, looking for a job in a private sector company or institution, or has no clear vision yet, and we should help them all by providing an integrated plan that ensures services, guidance, training and funding.” Awadhi said.

Mr. Awadhi, CEO of NGN Training Centre, also assured the importance of providing a database of these retirees including; their age, experience and sectors they worked for. He commented, “The more accurate information is available about these retirees, the more quickly and effectively we can integrate them into the private sector,”

“Reducing the number of government employees is a positive step that will support Bahrain’s fiscal reform plan that is expected to involve spending cuts and measures to increase non-oil; revenue. However, we must also think about the fate of these retirees, and look at how to provide them with employment and employment,” he added.

AL Awadhi called on more government employees to take the bold step of early retirement and redirect into entrepreneurial opportunities or private sector, which will benefit their future and the national economy as a whole.

“Based on previous experiences, we believe that many who accept to leave the government job are those who aspire to build a better and faster future in the private sector, relying on the amount of financial compensation from the government,”

“the departure of nine thousand Bahrainis from the government at the same time carries significant changes in a small labor market such as the Bahrain market, so we call for the facilitation and acceleration of their integration in the private sector by encouraging them to establish viable and sustainable projects such as projects in the industrial sector or logistics or tourism that is paralleled to Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. ” AL Awadhi concluded.
