Bahrainis Sami Mohammed Ali and Abdulla Al Wardi won two gold medals in the third edition of the Heroes Taekwondo International Championship, which was held remotely.
The Emperor Taekwondo Academy and Riffa Taekwondo Academy took part in the virtual championship, which saw the participation of 500 athletes from 7 countries.
Deena Abdulla Al Dosari, Ethar Mohammed Hayat and Hanan Youssef Al Sheroogui also shone in the virtual championship, bagging three silver medals.
The trio Moosa Rasool, Noora Abdulla Fouad and Abdulla Mohammed Abdulla each won a bronze medal, bringing Bahrain’s tally to 8 medals.
Bahrain Taekwondo Association Chairman Abdulla Isa Al Duwi praised the achievement, commending the support of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Council, chaired by HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
