Notarizing legal documents is an essential service offered by the government, but it can be considerably time-consuming if not done online. Like with many other legal transactions, you were previously required to visit the designated offices in person to finalize your papers. However, there is now an easier method. If you’re looking to save time and effort on getting your legal documents notarized, your best bet is to use the Private Notary eService available on Bahrain.bh

Developed in line with international standards, the Private Notary eService was launched earlier this year by the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, in partnership with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), to offer a more convenient and efficient method of conducting notarization transactions.

Users can benefit from the eService by quickly and easily submitting legal documents for notarization such as settlement contracts, declarations of indebtedness, loan contracts, marriage contracts for non-Muslims, divorce decrees for non-Muslims, and others.

The eService also allows for further enhancement to the procedures, as all documents submitted for notarization are verified through the use of a QR code, and all performances of private notaries are monitored and assessed by the Notary Directorate.

At the same time, licensed private notaries can use the eService to review the requests sent by users and carry out notarization services even after government working hours, guaranteeing faster turnaround times for all parties involved.

The eService also adds further layers of security compared to the traditional method, as it uses a two-dimensional barcode for verifying notarized documents, and allows for online archiving, creating a central database of all transactions.
