Continuing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s path towards digital transformation, and to help people maintain social distancing during the current pandemic, 20 new eServices were made available to the public via the National Portal bahrain.bh.

Launched by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), in cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), they include six offered by the General Directorate of Traffic. Issuance of lost or damaged vehicle ownership certificates, plate numbers ownership, and reserved plate numbers renewals are offered via the National Portal bahrain.bh, while traffic center, inspection center, and traffic accident center locators are available via the eTraffic app.

Among them are also three eServices offered by the iGA via the National Portal, including ID Card residential address updating, residential address statements, and residential address statement verification. They add to existing ID and population register services, bringing to 38 the total number of eServices offered by the iGA via the National Portal, smart devices, and other digital channels.

The launch also includes a second phase of visa services offered by Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA): new visa issuance requests, visa transfers, and visa request cancellations. In addition, four new guard training services were launched, including services allowing for the updating of company profiles, viewing of security guarded locations, registration of guarded locations, and cancelation of guarded locations. Three services jointly offered by the Coast Guard and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) were also launched, including renewal of vessel registration certificates, navigation permits, and requests management.
