Bahrain Cycling Association Chief Honor Lauded

Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar congratulated Bahrain Cycling Association (BCA) president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa on winning the medal of honor from the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC).

Shaikh Khalid is also vice-president of the ACC and was one of few figures who received this special award for his significant contributions to the development of sports on the continental level.

This was announced at Askar’s meeting with Shaikh Khalid, in presence of BOC sports affairs executive director Abduljalil Asad and sports federations director Hisham Al Blooshi, at a reception hosted by the committee in Seef. Askar commended the efforts of Shaikh Khalid and his contributions to the development of cycling in Bahrain, and lauded the experience enjoyed by the BCA chief, which are highly appreciated on the regional level, and wished him progress.

On his part, Shaikh Khalid expressed his gratitude to the committee, headed by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for its continued support to the association programmes. He noted that this medal is a result of the efforts of Shaikh Nasser and all board members of the BCA, and a major boost for them to extend their successes for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
