Bahrain Diabetes and Endocrine Conference

President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa inaugurated the second Bahrain Diabetes and Endocrine Conference. It is by the Royal Bahrain Hospital in cooperation with QTC company and ICOM.

The SCH President stresses the need to deal decisively with diabetes in cooperation with specialists from the health sector. Working out effective strategies to curb the spread of the disease. Detect it at an early stage and treat it to prevent other complications. He pointed out that 463 million persons in the world suffer from diabetes. 374 million are pre-diabetic and need care to prevent the disease. He added that expenditure on treating diabetes and its complications account for 10% of the international spending on health.

Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa underlined keenness to provide the best services for Diabetes and Endocrine patients in the Kingdom of Bahrain by providing a comprehensive health coverage, clinics and specialised primary care in treating chronic diseases. He stressed the tireless efforts of Bahrain Diabetes Society, since its inception 30 years ago, to boost awareness of the disease and promote commitment to healthy lifestyles.
