Bahraini singers Mohammed Abdul Raheem, Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Mohammed Al Bakri, and Arab Idol contestant Hanan Redha have been added to the lineup of the upcoming Bahrain For All festival, an annual event that celebrates the cultural diversity of Bahrain and aims to strengthen solidarity among all its residents. Their performances will include a piece written by noted Kuwaiti poet Abdulatif Al Bannai and composed by Tariq Al Jar, with musical arrangement from Ahmed Asadi. The new musicians join a lineup of talents that include Bahraini rap and hip hop artist The Mystro (Hamed Al Fardan) and the critically acclaimed DJ Outlaw, along with Flipperachi and Kuwaiti star Daffy. Internationally renowned Bahraini comedian, Waddah Swar, will emcee the show.

“We are delighted to welcome these additional talents to the show,” said organiser Nivedita Dhadphale. “The diversity in our line up, ranging from Bahraini and Gulf nationals to virtually all the expatriate clubs highlights the close bonds between the various groups in Bahrain. We have had tremendous support from the different clubs and embassies which has made this event possible. We welcome everybody to join us for this free day of activities and music.”

More than 20 communities will be represented through 16 cultural performances and more than 200 market stalls at the event, which will be held at Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park in Hidd on 29 April, 2016. More than 50,000 visitors are expected to attend.

This year’s programme lineup includes shows by the Nepalese, Indonesian, Sri Lankan, Egyptian, Jordanian, Filipino, Pakistani, Indian, Sudanese, Baluchi, Chinese, Kenyan, and Palestinian communities. Also new this year is a performance by special needs children from Special Families Support (SFS), who will sing the Beatles song With a Little Help from My Friends. In addition to market stalls, which will sell a range of products such as food, clothes, jewelry and handmade goods, 10 embassies will be present to showcase their countries’ culture and heritage. Discover Islam and Alliance Francaise will also offer information about their services, while an artists’ corner will feature locally produced art for sale. Specially allocated kids’ areas will offer face painting, henna, balloon twisters, and colouring stations. Shuttle services will be provided from participating clubs’ premises to the venue and back.
