Bahrain marks International Civil Defence Day

Director-General of Civil Defence Brigadier Mohammed Al Hutai asserted the support and directives of the Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to develop  the civil defence and building the skills and competency of staff. 

He also commended the follow up of Chief of Public Security Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan to step public safety efforts.

He made the statement on the occasion of the International Civil Defence Day, which is marked annually on March 1.

He said that planning, flexibility in evaluating situations, endless support are the main reasons for the professional performance of civil defence personnel in responding to daily cases and coronavirus-related operations.

He pointed out that the protection of lives, property and general safety of the public is a top priority, in which the department dealt with 16579 cases last year. 

The civil defence carried 192528 disinfection operations until February  26 of roads, buildings, shops and public and private facilities.  The department trained 2219 individuals from the public and private sectors and conducted 369 online courses and lectures.
