Dignitaries from all over the world met in Bahrain for a press conference announcing the third edition of the International Combat Week, set to take place in the Kingdom on November 9-16. A BRAVE Combat Federation event will be the crowning moment of the ICW, the largest martial arts festival in Asia.
The ICW is a vision of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who’s the president of the Bahrain Olympics Committee and BRAVE founder.
Bahrain MMA Federation president Col. Khalid A. Aziz Al Khayyat and BRAVE president Mohammed Shahid welcomed IMMAF-WMMAA heads Kerrith Brown and Densign White to announce the details of the biggest edition yet of the International Combat Week.
The International Combat Week is expected to feature 550 athletes from more than 60 nations competing in Bahrain and BRAVE will put on its most exciting card of the year in the same week.
Mr. Shahid talked about the power of Bahrain in the MMA scenario and spoke of the achievements of BRAVE and how the vision of HHSK has transformed the sport and has elevated Bahrain’s name worldwide.
“BRAVE is a product of Bahrain. It should be celebrated by the people as such. What we’ve seen today is the results of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s vision. BRAVE has done so much in the past three years. We have become the fastest-rising MMA promotion in the world, we are the largest media property in the Middle East, and we have elevated the name of Bahrain, due to His Highness’ vision”, said Shahid.
