As a part of the sixth VIVA Manchester United Soccer Schools program, 20 young Bahrain-based football talents – 4 girls and 16 boys – have boarded to the UK to begin their expertly designed training in Manchester with one of the world’s biggest and longest running football club training programmes, Manchester United Soccer School’s (MUSS).
The young VIVA footballers will be hosted and trained by qualified MUSS coaches at two of the MUSS training grounds, Partington and the Cliff grounds. Using top class sports facilities, all aspects of the game and techniques such as handling, footwork and distribution will be coached in exciting ways that recognize the abilities and needs of nurturing each talent.
The promising talents have been qualified for the MUSS week-long football camp following back-to-back football tryouts held in April on the Bahrain Football Association football pitches. MUSS coaches attended the tryouts and nominated the best contenders based on multiple parameters including physical and technical attributes, individual and team skills.
VIVA MUSS program in partnership with Manchester United Football Club is one of several grassroots community-driven initiatives by VIVA. It has impressively grown since its launch six years ago and has benefitted up to 139 local talents up to date in Bahrain from various cultural backgrounds.
