Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC), has visited the Asian Paralympic Committee premises in Dubai.

Following the recent establishment of the BPC earlier this year, the visit to the Asian Paralympic Committee headquarters came in line with its mission to learn from best practices and expertise, as well as review their recent activities.

The cooperation with the Asian Paralympic Committee aims to rise Bahrain’s accomplishments and to reach international standards in the field.

Meetings and a site tour of the premises were held to review the high standards, services, and facilities offered by the Asian Paralympic Committee.

The BPC were also briefed on the agenda of the Asian Paralympic Committee and the upcoming activities for this year.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa highlighted the warm hospitality received and described the visit as “hugely beneficial” for both sides, allowing them to exchange experiences in a welcoming environment.

He also said that the BPC aims to achieve similar standards to its Asian counterpart with a mission to improve the services provided to sportspeople with special needs in the Kingdom.

“Bahrain holds a great reputation in the sports field in Asia due to its active role. We will ensure that the Bahrain Paralympic Committee secures a prominent position among the upcoming activities and agenda of the Asian Paralympic Committee,” Majed Al Usaimi, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, said.
