Batelco and Cogent Communications Sign Agreement at Capacity Middle East 2019

Batelco, the leading provider of digital solutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain has announced the signing of an agreement with Cogent Communications, widely recognized as one of the largest providers of Internet services in the world. The agreement will support the Supply of Internet Traffic for Batelco and accommodate the Company’s requirements as internet usage continues to grow in Bahrain and the region.

The agreement was signed between both parties at Capacity Middle East 2019, which was held from March 4-7 at the Grand Hyatt, Dubai.

The partnership with Cogent will enhance Batelco’s internet service and create new interconnection locations allowing Batelco’s customers to continue to benefit from high-quality performance speeds to facilitate new, high-bandwidth applications. Batelco places its customers at the core of its business strategy and strives to empower them in the fast evolving digital society. This development will also contribute towards the enhancement of Batelco’s customers’ experience, as a result of added capacity and lower latency to content rate.

Cogent Communications is a multinational, Tier 1 facilities-based ISP, operating one of the largest and highest capacity IP networks in existence. The Company provides services to over 200 major markets located in North America and Europe and interconnects with over 6,500 other networks.
