The Bahrain British Business Forum hosted the BBBF “Banking and Finance” Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting, in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) Bahrain Chapter at the Capital Club, on the 13th of December 2017. The unique event offered BBBF and ICAP members and their guests access to a cross panel of financial advisory experts for a discussion about value added tax.

Participating panelists comprised of Ali Mahroos, Senior Manager at KPMG, Stephen Kitching, Tax Leader at BDO, Gavin Needham, Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, Mubeen Khadir, Head of Tax at Keypoint, and Sampath Kumara, Senior Manager at KSI.

The meeting was attended by more than 60 BBBF members and non-members, who had the opportunity to further develop their understanding of value added tax laws and regulations enforced in the GCC region.

The BBBF is a leading network of businessmen and women in Bahrain. The forum has nine Special Interest Groups (SIGs), covering oil, gas & energy, hospitality, construction, banking & financial services, ICT and legal sectors; as well as organisational effectiveness, young professionals and women in business. The SIGs offer members and guests a valuable medium for exchanging industry specific ideas and discussing issues relevant to a particular sector in a more informal setting.
