Solar energy is a renewable, free source of energy, which is non-polluting without emitting any greenhouse gases during electricity production.
The existing design of conventional solar powered street lights has flat solar panels mounted at an elevation to receive sun rays. This leads to accumulation of dust with moisture on the panels over time which reduces the efficiency of the panels. This in turn increases the cost due to regular maintenance and cleaning.
In contrast, Kanoo Power Solutions provides smart street lights with vertically integrated solar cells which reduce maintenance costs. Smart Street lights feature remote monitoring of individual poles from the workstation computer, to analyse data on energy production and its use, to set timing parameters and also toggle the pole’s brightness and power. It also offers motion detecting sensors as an optional feature that triggers the poles to switch on and off.
Kanoo Power Solutions installed the new Smart Solar Project at the Ebrahim K. Kanoo Corporate Office parking area in Manama, Toyota Plaza Service Station in Tubli and Motorcity Service Centre parking in Ma’ameer.
