Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is set to come alive with the sound of roaring engines this Friday (Editor’s note: September 15, 2017) as the new Open Track season gets underway following a few weeks’ break for the summer.

Open Track is one of the most popular and highly subscribed events at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, and this weekend’s event is expected to attract racing enthusiasts from all over Bahrain and even from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE.

Those taking part in the Open Track will be able to drive their car or ride their bike along BIC’s world-renowned 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix circuit – the very same used for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

This Friday’s action will be held from 4pm until 11pm under BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlighting system.

Guests will be able to drive for a whole night at BD105, or choose a drive for just half the night at BD75. A single 30-minute session can also be enjoyed for BD40. Friends or family members who would like to accompany a participant as a passenger in their car may do so at an extra fee.

Discounts are available for all those who book their participation in advance, so register now at www.bahraingp.com or call the BIC Hotline on +973-17-450000.

Meanwhile, aside from the Open Track, BIC is also offering on Friday a pair of adrenaline-pumping passenger rides that are a part of the circuit’s Ultimate Track Experience activities.

They are the Clio Cup and Radical SR3 passenger experiences.

The Clio Cup passenger ride comprises a single three-lap session of around 40 minutes, and it can be enjoyed for BD25. The SR3 passenger ride costs BD35 for a three-lap session of around 40 minutes.

Friday’s Open Track and passenger rides will all be run to the highest of international safety standards, although participants will still be able to push their vehicles to their very limits. All those taking part in the Open Track must first bring their cars or motorbikes through scrutineering before being allowed to move forward. They must also own a valid driver’s license and must be wearing appropriate clothing along with closed-toe footwear.

For more information on the upcoming Open Track or other BIC activities, visit www.bahraingp.com or call the BIC Hotline.
