World Travel Market (WTM) London concluded today at the ExCel centre in London. 50,000 delegates have attended the three-day show, generating more than £2.5 billion in travel and tourism industry deals. Senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international press visit ExCeL London every November to network, negotiate and discover the latest industry opinion and trends at WTM London.
In total, 12 companies were represented at Bahrain Tourism & Exhibition Authority’s (BTEA) show stand, Gulf Air, destination management companies and a host of Bahrain’s leading hotels and resorts.
“WTM London has been a great success” said His Excellency Mr Zayed Bin Rashid Alzayani, The Minister of Industry, Commerce & Tourism “It’s been great to see people excited about the new brand on display, to see them meeting with our partners, and immersing themselves in our story and culture.”
His Excellency Shaikh Khaled Bin Humood Al-Khalifa, CEO of the BTEA said, “All of our stand partners were delighted to be here, establishing trade links with the UK and leading global travel professionals. Many have secured deals and new agreements over the last few days and are leaving more excited than ever about the future.”
During the three days, BTEA held 19 meetings with members of the travel trade and media, including meetings with key travel partners such as Expedia, Southall Travel, Thomas Cook, Lastminute.com and Emerald.
Media interviews were conducted with TTG, the official media partner of WTM, and other key publications, including Selling Travel, ABTA, National Geographic and AlArabiya amongst others.
Agents visiting the stand were able to try their driving skills on the Bahrain International Circuit Formula 1 simulator, and fuel their wanderlust through the many inspiring images on display throughout the stand – part of the new Bahrain. Ours. Yours brand launched by BTEA at the show.
