The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) Handicrafts Directorate held a graduation ceremony for the participants of the Porcelain training workshop at Al Jasrah Handicrafts Centre.

The workshop was hosted by an expert in the field, Ms. Mina Fakhr, and attended by 14 women training on porcelain crafts. The Porcelain workshop focused on the basic skills and techniques of using porcelain and aimed to enhance the skills of participants to qualify them to become professional trainers in the field.

Ms. Mina Fakhr has also benefited from the Ceramic Glazing workshop that was hosted previously by a Moroccan trainer and organized by BTEA’s Handicrafts Directorate.

“The Handicrafts Directorate is pleased to host this workshop, which comes as part of its efforts to provide craftsmen with training opportunities in order to develop their skills and abilities to create high quality products that will stand out regionally,” said the Director of Handicrafts Directorate at BTEA, Shaikha Wafa Saif Al Khalifa.

“We are always seeking to host workshops in line with the BTEA’s efforts to enhance the skills of Bahraini craftsmen and improve the quality of their production. We look forward to hosting such successful workshops in the coming future,” she added.

The ‘Handicrafts Training Program’ comes as part of the BTEA’s long term strategy to develop the Kingdom’s tourism sector under the slogan of ‘Ours. Yours.’, which contributes towards the national economy and the 2030 Economic Vision.
