‘China Handicrafts Show’ to Take Place at Dragon City from the 26th to the 28th of May

Dragon City, Bahrain’s flagship wholesale and retail shopping destination, located in Diyar Al Muharraq, announced the holding of “China Handicrafts Show” from the 26th to the 28th of May 2016.

The China Handicrafts Show will be inaugurated with an opening ceremony on Thursday, the 26th of May 2016, in the presence of senior officials from Diyar Al Muharraq, the Head of China Handicraft Delegation, and visitors of Dragon City. The Ceremony will include a live demonstration of the intricate art of Chinese pottery making and other live performances. The Chinese Handicraft Show is part of Dragon City’s Summer Surprise Month that was launched on the 18th of May 2016. The event will extend over a period of 2 days during which an exhibition will be held displaying 12 different types of handcrafted Chinese products. The products are supplied by 30 different handicraft suppliers and include glass made artworks, embroidered merchandise, scarves, golden and silverware coins, different types of Chinese teas, cloisonné decorated collectibles, and many more.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Patrick Zheng Shuo, General Manager of Chinamex Bahrain Management Company, the operating company of Dragon City, said: “With Dragon City not only being a commercial hub, rather an all-inclusive destination, one where the Chinese culture is elaborated upon in extensive, intricate detail, it is with great pleasure and pride that we welcome everyone to the ‘China Handicraft Show’. As the event is being held over the weekend, it is a great opportunity for the people of Bahrain and neighbouring countries, to visit the exhibition that will reveal some aspects of the Chinese culture represented in traditional handicrafts.”

To add to the celebratory nature of the festival during the Summer Surprise Month, customers who shop at the participating outlets will receive one scratch & win card for every BD 20 they spend, with the chance of winning instant prizes. The prizes include cell phones and tickets to Dubai from Cathay Pacific Airways among many other prizes.

“Our visitors will have the pleasure of examining the art of pottery making up-close as members of the China Handicraft delegation will be presenting live shows at different time intervals, besides that, they will be able to purchase handcrafted products on display during the exhibition. We hope all our customers enjoy our offerings during the Summer Surprise Month, as much as it pleasures us to have organized it,” he added.

To round off the two days event, Dragon City’s Management will hold an awards ceremony on the 29th of May 2016, for the participating members from the China Handicraft Delegation in appreciation of their efforts.
