StartUp Bahrain, the leading platform for startups in the Kingdom of Bahrain, hosted the second pitching event as part of the StartUp Bahrain Pitch series. In collaboration with key industry stakeholders, including the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and Bahrain Development Bank, the event showcased the Kingdom’s dynamic startup scene.

The event showcased six local startups presenting their ambitious ideas to a distinguished panel of regional and local judges, investors and ecosystem leaders. The event provided a unique platform for startups to secure potential investment opportunities and a grand prize for the first-place winner. It’s worth mentioning that leading up to the event, the 6 startups attended a pitching course focused on developing their pitching skills to prepare them for pitching to investors as well as the most important elements to include in a pitch and the best ways to present their concept to ensure delivering an effective pitch.

With a strong focus on entrepreneurship, the Kingdom provides constant support for startups across all stages of their growth journey, leading key stakeholders in Bahrain’s ecosystem to unite and launch the StartUp Bahrain Pitch initiative, empowering Bahraini entrepreneurs and founders to connect with investors and secure funding.

On this occasion, Mr. Ali Hasan, Executive Director of Programs and Partnership Development at the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) highlighted Tamkeen’s dedication to fostering the growth of Bahrain’s startup ecosystem through tailored support programs and initiatives. “At Tamkeen, we prioritize overcoming the hurdle of access to finance, a key growth barrier for startups,” he stated, “StartUp Bahrain Pitch provides a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs at similar stages to pitch their ideas to a panel of local and international judges, enabling them to secure potential funding opportunities to fuel their growth and expansion.”

The panel of judges praised their efforts and after careful evaluation, Codot emerged as the winner, poised for success with their platform designed to connect clients with creative freelancers to help them achieve their business goals.

Commenting on their win, Othman Al Kooheji Co-founder of Codot, expressed appreciation to the stakeholders involved in organizing the initiative and commented: “We’re honored to win the second edition of StartUp Bahrain Pitch, it’s a remarkable achievement for our team! Our gratitude to the judges, stakeholders, the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Tamkeen, the Economic Development Board, Bahrain Development Bank, and the StartUp Bahrain community for their invaluable support. We’d also like to thank Spring Studios for the bootcamp sessions that allowed us to gain more insights from industry experts. This victory fuels our passion to push boundaries and make a lasting impact.”

StartUp Bahrain is set to open applications for the next cohort of StartUp Bahrain Pitch soon, where more entrepreneurs can take the chance to enhance their pitching skills through a training course followed by a pitching event where they can pitch in front of seasoned investors and judges.
