Members of Bahrain’s national cross country team were felicitated and given a warm welcome on return from Tunisia this week following their impressive first-place finish at the Arab Championship held recently.
Bahrain topped the week-long event with an overwhelming victory of winning 11 medals in total, including 2 gold, 3 bronze and 3 silver in the singles events and 3 in the team category.
Leading high-ranking sports officials at Bahrain International Airport was Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, who congratulated the team on their well-earned victory.
Mr Askar said the achievement reflects the Kingdom’s leadership’s support to Bahraini sports movement, as part of a series of accomplishments at various levels. He also lauded members of the team for their high morale spirits and loyalty in achieving such spectacular feat at the pan-Arab level, citing the role of the technical and administrative crews.
