DHL Express, the leading global express and logistics provider, has extended its support to the 3rd Ice Hockey League being held in Bahrain by becoming the main sponsor for the 2018 season. This agreement was signed between DHL Express MENA CEO, Nour Suliman and Bahrain Sharks representative Tamer Fakhro.

The DHL Ice Hockey League will take place over the course of the next four months, from January to April, with a total of four teams vying for the DHL Ice Hockey Title 2018. The teams, whose names have been inspired by local Bahraini districts and National Hockey League (NHL) team names, include the Muharraq Predators, the Manama Capitals, the Isa Town Oilers and the Riffa Maple Leafs.

Commenting on this partnership, Mr. Nour Suliman, CEO of DHL Express Middle East and North Africa, stated: “It is with great delight that DHL Express lends its support to the third edition of the Ice Hockey League being held in the Kingdom. Hockey is a game of high endurance, passion, speed, precision and team work which is everything that we as a company aspire towards. It is a relatively new sport in Bahrain with tremendous potential to grow in popularity. The efforts of these young men in pushing this sport locally are commendable and we are keen to support them to help spread its reach and maximise its potential in the long-run.”
