American Ambassador to Bahrain, H.E. Mr. William Roebuck inaugurated the Lulu Hypermarket ‘Discover America’ Festival which ran over the week-end at Lulu Hypermarket in Hidd. This first-ever celebration of “American commerce, culture and cuisine, as Ambassador Roebuck called it, proved a major draw and showcased Lulu Hypermarket’s wide range of over 2,500 American products as well as the deep-rooted friendship between Bahrain and America.
From shopping for American products with exciting promotion offers to enjoying a sampling of typical American ‘down home’ food from chefs of popular American restaurants and admiring iconic Harley Davidson motorbikes and American Muscle Cars and lovingly restored vintage cars of the Mustang Club, it was all there for visitors.
“We are Lulu Hypermarket is very proud to lead this initiative called ‘Discover America’, said Lulu Hypermarket Regional Director, Mr. Juzer Rupawala, “Bahrain and America share a vibrant friendship and we have reached out and connected with the community to make them a part of this event.”
The Lulu Hidd premises was decorated with American flag colours and giant cut-outs of the Statue of Liberty and the Capitol Hill (U.S. Congress). The American Women’s Association and the American Mission Hospital were community participants while the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AMCHAM) also took part with a kiosk to highlight the trade and commerce potential of the US-Bahrain FTA.
