#Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the leading urban developers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the recent signing of an agreement with AECOM, a global, integrated infrastructure services company, for the comprehensive primary designing of every aspect of infrastructure within the master-planned development.
The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr. Maher Al Shaer, and the Regional Chief Operating Officer of AECOM, Mr. Hamed Zaghw, in the presence of AECOM Country Manager Mr. Craig Thackray and other officials from both companies. The ceremony took place in Diyar Al Muharraq’s headquarters at the Bahrain World Trade Centre and marks a significant milestone in the development history of the project.
As necessitated by the agreement, AECOM’s contractual obligations include providing primary design and construction supervision for all the infrastructural components of Diyar Al Muharraq including roads, grade separation, landscaping, environmental impact assessment, all transportation and logisitics requirements and utilities, including the potable water network, sanitary network, electrical distribution network, telecommunications network and waste management.
Elaborating on the significance of the partnership, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr. Maher Al Shaer, said: “This agreement with AECOM marks a historical moment for Diyar Al Muharraq, one that will forever be known as a game-changing occasion.
