Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the leading urban developers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, proudly announced that it capped off a highly successful year by earning the distinction of receiving the Golden Shield Award from the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility during its 11th annual awards ceremony that was held on Tuesday, the 24th of January 2017 at the Al Bustan Rotana Dubai, in collaboration with Excellence Awards Co.

The Awards ceremony was attended by a host of participating organizations who exhibited their experiences in their respective CSR fields and for their equally significant efforts in this direction, each of them were presented with varying Memorial Awards and Certificates of Appreciation. The ceremony took place in the presence of VIPs and management personnel and the evening was concluded with a dinner that was held in honor of the participants and their consequential and noteworthy approach towards social welfare.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr. Maher Al Shaer, said: “On behalf of Diyar Al Muharraq, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility for honouring us with this prestigious award that we are proud to add to our longstanding record of achievements. This award comes as the culmination of our efforts and exemplifies everything we have aspired to achieve through the many CSR provisions in our mission.”

“We at Diyar Al Muharraq have always been keen on promoting the concept of social responsibility in both private and public sectors through a great number of initiatives that have aimed at and succeeded in supporting social development. We are deeply proud of how Diyar Al Muharraq inspires official institutions to engage in social responsibility as our project highlights the importance of community work that benefits the local community as a whole and contribute in improving the standard of living for individuals,” he added.

The award was made to honor the efforts of all the supporters and participants in CSR activities across the region, and this is a result of a growing interest and increasing awareness about the obligation towards social responsibility and its significant nature in the Arab world. One of the basic foundations that the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility was built on is to increase general awareness on the perception of Social Responsibility and the manner that the momentous obligation is implemented in. The organization was conceptualized to strategically place Social Responsibility in a vital position of necessity in both the private and public sectors and to promote it through authoritative and inspiring individuals and management systems so that it becomes naturally engrained in every aspect of social culture. The esteemed organization also lays its basis on aiming to encourage civil societies to engage in social responsibility and builds on concepts that augment and enhance their own work agenda and support programs in order to achieve a state of sustainable development for society as a whole.

Additionally, amongst its primary objectives lies its responsibility to honour those governmental institutions that have acquired quality quantifying ISO certificates in the sphere of social responsibility. Another key purpose of the organization is to advocate the discussion of ways to stimulate joint cooperation and facilitate the consolidation of agreements between national and regional organizations and pan-Arab and international organizations, as well as between private and public institutions in order to take great strides in the progress of achieving desired results and shared goals. The Arab Organization for Social Responsibility also considers to be equally significant the act of organizing seminars, conferences, meetings and annual forums that are aimed at developing relations between mutually compatible parties that would serve to galvanize efforts in and the exchange of information in the field of social responsibility.
