Dream of Buhaz’a comes true at Brave ICW 2018

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa made the dream of Mohammed Buhaz’a come true in the inaugural ceremony of Asia’s largest combat sports event. The inaugural ceremony of Brave International Combat Week 2018 which also marked the launch of the initiative KHK Heroes thrilled the audience as His Highness Sheikh Khalid competed against Mohammed Buhaz’a who overcame the struggles faced due to down syndrome to achieve his dream to compete with his role model and hero, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The event was held on 11th November at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, Bahrain. The event was presided by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Buhaz’a realised his dream to train martial arts when His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa welcomed him to KHK MMA Bahrain. Buhaz’a received special attention from the team where he made friends with the entire fight team. He was specially trained by Head Coach of Bahrain National Team, Eldar Eldarov and striking coach Renat. The biggest dream of Buhaz’a was to compete against his hero and role model, His Highness Sheikh Khalid, who has an undefeated amateur record in Mixed Martial Arts. Not only did the dream came true but it took place during Asia’s largest combat sports event with the whole nation witnessing the action.
In the friendly bout, Buhaz’a sparred with his role model and locked in a submission to which His Highness Sheikh Khalid gracefully tapped to declare Buhaz’a as the winner. The event was broadcasted across the nation and globally. With tears of joy Buhaz’a embraced his hero in front of a cheering crowd in a heart melting moment. The event was attended by dignitaries, celebrities and influencers from across the Kingdom of Bahrain. The initiative will strengthen the social commitment by empowering the initiatives to support those with disabilities and opening new avenues of opportunities for individuals. KHK Heroes received overwhelming support from the athlete community with many athletes including Brave CF World Champions coming forward to support the initiative.
