Dubai gears up for ‘Eid in Dubai-Eid Al Adha’

Dubai gears up for 9th ‘Eid in Dubai-Eid Al Adha’ celebrations. From 8 – 17 September, people from diverse cultural backgrounds will be ‘United in Celebration’ during ten days of citywide festivities. Highlights include live concerts featuring iconic singers, fireworks shows and many family-oriented events at malls.

The Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), has unveiled the highlights of its annual ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations aimed at further enhancing Dubai’s position as the holiday destination of choice for families and tourists from Bahrain during the joyous occasion of Eid Al Adha.

Held for ten days from 8 -17 September and featuring a diverse range of events and activities, the ninth edition of ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha’ will bring together people from different communities and cultures from within and outside the emirate to showcase the true spirit of Dubai’s multicultural environment under the theme, “United in Celebration”.

Highlights of this year’s ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha’ celebrations include live concerts featuring some of the iconic Arab singers, Rabeh Saqer and Shamma Hamdan on 13 September and Mohamed Abdo on 16 September; a performance by Pakistani singer and Sufi maestro Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan; a Looney Tunes show featuring Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny, spectacular fireworks shows and numerous events for families and children hosted by malls across Dubai. In addition to the entertainment offering, Eid shoppers can avail themselves of the opportunity to win prizes up to AED 1.5 million in the ‘Shop. Spin & Win’ promotion run by DFRE in collaboration with the Dubai Shopping Malls Group.

In addition to the ‘Eid in Dubai’ calendar, residents and visitors can also enjoy numerous other attractions that make Dubai a ‘must-visit’ year round destination, including the mega theme park, IMG Worlds of Adventure.

Dubai Concerts – Eid Al Adha 2016

13 & 16 September, Dubai World Trade Centre

Iconic Arab singers, Mohamed Abdo Rabeh Saqer & Shamma Hamdan will take the lead in providing world-class entertainment at live concerts organised in collaboration with Rotana, as part of the line-up of events  during the ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha’ celebrations’ this year. Rabeh Saqer and Shamma Hamdan will perform on 13 September and Mohamed Abdo will take centre stage on 16 September.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan – Live in Concert

16 September, Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre

Pakistani singer and Sufi maestro Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform live for one night in Dubai for his only performance of 2016, as part of the ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha’ celebrations. At a brand new show featuring a live acoustic segment never seen before, Rahat will play all his biggest Bollywood hits and Qawwali classics in a spectacular 3-hour musical show.

Looney Tunes “What Stole My Chicken” Live Show and Workshop

8 – 17 September, Ibn Battuta Mall

The Looney Tunes show featuring Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Taz in “What Stole My Chicken” will provide live entertainment for the whole family that will run for 10 days in Ibn Battuta Mall as part of the ‘Eid in Dubai- Eid Al Adha’ celebrations.

Iftah Ya Simsim Live Show, Workshop and Parade

8 – 17 September, Dragon Mart 2

Based on the popular Arabic entertainment series for children, the Iftah Ya Simsim live show will make its debut in Dubai in Dragon Mart 2, accompanied by a fun and educational workshop. Characters from this show will also roam the mall before the shows to meet excited guests!
