The First Outlet at Al Reem Center, Riffa!

Dunkin’ Donuts recently opened its first outlet here in Bahrain. It is an American global donut company and coffeehouse chain based in Canton, Massachusetts, in Greater Boston. It was founded in 1950 by William Rosenberg in Quincy, Massachusetts. Since its founding, the company has grown to become one of the largest coffee and baked goods chains in the world, with more than 12,000 restaurants in 36 countries. The chain’s products include donuts, bagels, other baked goods, and a wide variety of hot and iced beverages.

“We are pleased to work with Shahia Food to bring Dunkin’ Donuts’ delicious range of espresso beverages, coffees, sandwiches and baked goods to the Kingdom of Bahrain,” said John Varughese, Vice President, Dunkin’ Brands International.

Speaking to BTW, Mr Saud Abdullah Al Athel, the General Manager Dunkin’ Donuts Bahrain & KSA and CEO of Shahia Food Company Limited WLL.  said, “We are excited to open our first Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Our new restaurant features Dunkin’ Donuts’ world famous menu of high-quality foods and beverages, all served with the brand’s signature fast and friendly service. We look forward to becoming an integral part of guests’ days and to opening many more outlets in the months and years to come. We have more than 300 outlets in Saudi Arabia and our brand will be opening many more outlets in Bahrain. This year we are starting with 3 outlets and by next year we should have 5 outlets in Kingdom of Bahrain.

“We are very strong in USA and our coffee is very popular as our donuts though our brand says Donuts only. We would like to have the same ritualistic behavior of donut lovers in Bahrain too, we are very positive about Bahrain and Middle East”, said Mr Saud.

Quite encouraged by the turn-out of the opening of its first outlet, Mr Saud said that it was the first outlet and the opening has been overwhelming with the massive crowd. “We expect coffee lovers and donut lovers to have a good time and enjoy. We want people to taste coffee. We offer great value on affordable price compared to any other brand. Once people know about our taste, we know we will have customers coming back to us. Just one donut and coffee of such great quality in BD 1. Costing is highly affordable without compromising on the quality of our coffee and donuts,” explained Mr Saud.

The new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant will serve a wide range of high-quality foods and beverages, including hot and cold espresso beverages, coffees, teas, frozen beverages, muffins, croissants, bagels and the brand’s world famous donuts. It will also feature a delicious range of sandwiches, including options from the global Dunkin’ Donuts menu, as well as regional varieties. The location will be open seven days a week, and will feature bright and modern décor, digital menu displays, two outdoor seating areas with terraces on the ground and mezzanine floors, comfortable seating and free Wi-Fi for guests to help keep them connected.
