Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, has affirmed the Ministry’s constant keenness to provide quality specialised training for its affiliates, as part of the Digital Empowerment Programme in education, and the “Partners in Learning” agreement signed with Microsoft Company in February, 2015, which provided teachers with the opportunity to join online training programme at any time.

Teachers may also qualify after taking professional certification exams at the Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology (RCICT), which is an accredited centre for these exams, he said.

He added that teachers of the first phase of the Digital Empowerment Programme schools benefited from the agreement in June 2015, the affiliates of the second phase schools in July 2016, and those of the remaining schools in the following years.

The minister pointed out that obtaining accredited professional certificates allows teachers to acquire technological knowledge, creates positive trends among them to use digital programmes and devices in the classrooms, and enables them to be informed about new ideas and applications in the fields of distance learning and Integrated Education, which contributes to achieving quality education.

The Education Minister revealed that more than 880 Bahraini trainees have obtained professional certificates, namely the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE), the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) and the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE).
