Bahrain Police Day marked

Bahrain Police Day is a celebration of the dedication and loyalty of police servicemen, as well as a reflection on the country’s transition from a conventional police force to a modern one.

This was highlighted by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa on the occasion of Bahrain Police Day, on December 14.

The minister attended a celebration held by the Interior Ministry to mark the day. He was received by the Chief of Public Security, Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, officials and Interior Ministry officers.

During the event, the Interior Minister congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of its National Days, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini State as an Arab, Muslim state founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Accession to the Throne.

The minister said Bahrain Police Day was a national occasion on which the efforts to overcome extraordinary security challenges are recounted, expressing his thanks to injured police personnel for their sacrifices to protect security and recalling the sacrifices of fallen servicemen. The minister noted that the sense of national belonging was a great value embraced by loyal patriots, affirming  that the loyalty and dedication of police servicemen will help overcome any challenges, especially during the transition from being a conventional police force to a modern one.

Gen Shaikh Rashid said the transition will be mainly based on the advancement in informational technology, which will be a key component in the upcoming security strategy, which shall positively reflect on developing security performance and the efficiency of security services offered by the ministry.

“Another security focus is protecting our national identity and values through various initiatives of the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism “Bahrainouna” and the participation of citizens,” the minister said.

The minister expressed his pride in Bahraini Police servicemen who have continued to fulfill their duties of law enforcement and in maintaining order and stability, with integrity and diligence.

He also congratulated graduates of the Royal Police Academy (RAP) and their families, extending his appreciation for the efforts on the academy in conducting its educational and training programmes.

The celebration included the graduation ceremony of the 13th intake of police cadets from RAP in the law and police science bachelor’s degree programme.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Dr Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, in his tribute eloquently extolled the virtues of the Bahraini police force, emphasising their commitment to upholding the nation’s security, stability, and social cohesion. He portrayed Bag Police as a paragon of honour and valour as the nation marked a day celebrating the guardians of the country.

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) Director-General Abdulla Khalil Buhejji also commended the dedicated efforts of Bahraini police to defending the nation and its stability, expressing pride in the sacrifices made by the police personnel.

 He asserted that the Bahrain Police Day provides an opportunity to recall the inspiring giving of Bahraini police, lauding the advanced level reached by policing in Bahrain.
