Emirates will display its two-class configured A380 at the fourth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIA). This is the first time that the two-class A380 comes to the Kingdom. The aircraft on display will allow both trade visitors and the general public to familiarise themselves with the new double-decker.
Khalid Al Haddad, Vice President Commercial Operations, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain for Emirates, said: “The Bahrain International Airshow is an elite event with a strong international standing in the aerospace business community. The A380 on display demonstrates our commitment to the Kingdom of Bahrain and it showcases Emirates as a global airline supporting the growth of aviation in the region.”
Anticipated to be popular with aviation buffs visiting the Bahrain International Airshow, Emirates’ two class configured A380 features 58 flatbed seats in Business Class and 557 spacious seats in Economy Class, as well as Emirates’ popular OnBoard Lounge. The newest version of Emirates’ A380, which commenced operations to Copenhagen in December 2015, features among the widest individual in-seat Economy Class screens in the industry, measuring in at 13.3 inches.
Emirates is the largest operator of the A380, flying to 36 destinations around the world from Dubai. Recently, the airline announced that Washington D.C, Birmingham, Prague and Taipei will be joining its A380 network in 2016. The airline currently has 72 A380s in service and has a further 68 on firm order.
Emirates has been flying to Bahrain since 2000 and serves the Kingdom with four daily flights.
