Endless Summer Nights – Bahrain Summer Festival

www.bahrainsummer.bh

In spite of the soaring summer heat, the spirit of the Bahrain Summer Festival has gripped the interest of islanders with its numerous shows and activities keeping Bahrain busy.

The Nakhool Gardens at Sitra Mall is still the hot spot with numerous unique activities organised every day to enthrall the young ones. A dedicated story corner and painting and craft activities help keep children entertained during the evenings of their summer holidays.

Storytelling and Palestinian Folklore Music featuring Palestinian group “Beit Byout” and Lego WeDo Robotics / Creativity Studio with Engineer Shaima Salim have been two of the most interesting events at the gardens last week. An auction of art pieces created by kids was another major attraction and saw several of them being sold at good prices. The proceeds of the auction went to support the little talents that worked hard behind those masterpieces.

Ballet Philippines gave the nation an enchanting evening on 10th August with their mesmerizing performance. The incredible dance concert put up by the team was met with loud applause and a standing ovation from the crowd.

Barney Live! World Tour was a totally different experience for both the young and the old. An entertaining tale of Barney and his friends going around the globe to find his cousin Riff came to life on stage at the Bahrain Cultural Hall. More than being just a stage show, the programme was a successful all-round infotainment package, reflecting the culture and language of different nations like France, India, Japan, China and Mexico, where Barney and his friends travelled.

Watch monsters create music! A family friendly musical where anything and everything, from pots and spoons to trash can lids, are used as instruments to produce music.  All time favorites Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and all their Sesame Street friends are here this season to teach us to create music from the simple things in life and learn to enjoy them together.
