Shaikh Nasser clinches second World Endurance title
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, achieved a remarkable feat by winning first place in the 160-kilometer FEI World Endurance Championship held in Montpazière, France. This victory marks Shaikh Nasser’s second consecutive title at this prestigious global event, solidifying Bahrain’s reputation in the world of endurance racing.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, attended the championship to congratulate Shaikh Nasser on his outstanding performance. “Incredible pride fills our hearts with this achievement, which reflects the dedication and talent within our nation,” Prince Salman said. “Endurance racing in Bahrain has reached impressive heights, thanks to the unwavering support of His Majesty.”
During the championship, Shaikh Nasser expressed deep gratitude for the support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness. He noted that their presence significantly boosted morale, contributing to the successful execution of the race.
Reflecting on the challenges faced during the race, Shaikh Nasser pointed out the strong competition and difficult weather conditions in the early stages. However, through his experience and strategic insight, he developed a technical approach that led him to secure his second world title.
The FEI World Endurance Championship featured 118 male and female riders from 39 countries, competing over a distance of 160 kilometers divided into six loops. Shaikh Nasser credited his achievement to the close support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The engagement of his children, along with those of HH Shaikh Khalid, also played a crucial role in his victory.
In addition to witnessing the championship, Prince Salman highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing its global position in various sports, particularly endurance racing, driven by the excellence of its athletes. He commended Shaikh Nasser’s leadership of the Royal Endurance Team, which has significantly contributed to Bahrain’s success in this discipline and other sports events.
