Having been in the photography industry for some time now, I had the opportunity of getting a few sponsorships to test various photography products and see its potential.
In this article, I am sharing with you one thing that no one would actually say aloud; the one decision you should consider before you ever press that buy button on BHPhotoVideo or any other online site to purchase your new photography equipment.
Buy what is needed and what gets the job done
Everything else is of unimportance. As a photographer, we are constantly bombarded with new cameras, new lenses, new lighting equipment, and all sorts of other things. It does not mean we should have all of it, do we? I mean for what? And seriously, think about it. It will cost you loads of cash. Truth is, one does not necessarily need that third generation lens that has a marginal difference from the last one. One would care less.
See, if a renowned chef like Wolfgang Puck were in your kitchen, and use whatever existing stove and ingredients you have, you can pretty well be sure that he can do a live out-cook for you and come up with a sumptuous meal. The stove isn’t the one that makes the food, the chef does. No matter how many tools and state of the art cooking gadgets you have, a great cook will remain to be a great cook no matter what. This is no different in photography. You use the resources that you have at your own disposal, maximize its potential and get the job done.
