Mrs. Hala Azzam, Gulf Air Manager Emergency Response Planning, recently chaired the annual Arab Air Carriers’ Organization (AACO) Emergency Response Planning Steering Committee held in Muscat this month.
The two-day event was attended by emergency response planning managers from AACO member airlines that have signed the emergency response management mutual assistance agreement. With various discussions and workshops centered upon preparing responses for any potential emergencies concerning Arabian airlines the meeting was focused on ensuring greater synergy between all parties.
Mrs. Azzam, representing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, is the first Bahraini elected Chairperson of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization Emergency Response Planning Steering Committee and has held this position since 2013. She is also the first Bahraini to be qualified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as an Aviation Security Professional Manager – one of the most advanced aviation security training programmes in existence today.
