Bahraini Author Ms.Maryam Isa participated with a reading of her book “GULNAR the Cat – A Journey Back in Time to Baghdad’s House of Wisdom” at Marassi AlBahrain on Thursday the 287trh of April 2017, under the “Read Bahrain” Campaign, organized by the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Isa Cultural Center and Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs.
On this occasion she expressed, “The campaign is essentially reinforcing the value of reading, at a time when visual media is taking over. Words have power, and much stronger power when spoken than written. This is why GULNAR the Cat will be holding a series of readings in the GCC throughout the year, in hopes of reaching as many children.”
Author, Ms. Maryam Isa expressed her thanks to the Ministry of Education and Read Bahrain organizing partners. Her message through GULNAR is to shed light on the polymaths of the Islamic Golden Age. The excerpt from her book reads, “A wildfire of wisdom from Baghdad we once knew, let us read their stories and ignite their flames anew.” Illustrated by Saudi Graphic Designer Mr. Mohamed Al-Omar, the journey of GULNAR is visualized with talent and amuse.
