Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Information Affairs at Bahrain Polytechnic attended on Tuesday part of the Khalid bin Hamad League, held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honourary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation.
Organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs in partnership with the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa from 24 June to 6 August, the league is part of HH’s initiatives in support of youth in sports and humanitarian fields.
It is held this year with the wide participation of youth centres, national clubs, young women, disabled individuals, ministries and communities.
Competitions were also attended by Mr. Mohammed Al Sinan, Chairman of the Muharraq Governorate Municipal Council and Ahmed Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Southern Governorate Municipal Council, Yousif Al-Sabbagh, Member of the Southern Governorate Municipal Council.
Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa stressed that HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s outstanding initiatives for Bahraini youth contribute to the enhancement of their talents in various fields, especially sports. He noted, “HH has undertaken the task of providing leading initiatives to Bahraini youth in various fields, in the implementation of the directives of the wise leadership which believes in the importance of enhancing the role of youth in developing the Kingdom in different areas, investing their energies to participate in building a modern Bahrain.”
He further added, “The Khalid bin Hamad league stands out among HH’s initiatives as one of the most important sports youth forums that unite a wide range of members of Bahraini society in competition for the title. The league carries within its folds sports objectives focused on developing the skills of youth and the discovery of sports talents, as well as social objectives of integrating those with special needs into the community and including the participation of communities residing in Bahrain”.
From his part, Al Sinan said that the Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa League has become one of the distinguished competitions, which is concerned with embracing the youth and contribute to give them the opportunity to compete as well as show their abilities and potential.
