HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports confirmed that the horse racing sport is steadily moving towards the top and this is shown by the unique accomplishments Bahrain have been achieving at the international level, stating that the Kingdom has been conquering global and international gatherings.
HH Shaikh Nasser’s remarks came in reaction to the victory achieved by HH Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa-owned Al Mohammedia Studs after their mare Golden Horde put up a game performance to land the Richmond Stakes race, held in Britain.
Golden Horde managed to grab the rail and see off the hot favourite Threat in the closing stages to win the 1200m race which was for mares aged two years (Class 2). And HH Shaikh Nasser described this victory is a continuation of Bahrain’s success in the horse sports. The event featured 12 horses and the Clive Cox-trained winning mare was steered by Adam Kirby, who produced an incredible performance to guide Golden Horde to victory.
