HH Shaikh Nasser honoured

Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and IRONMAN world champion His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was honoured by the IRONMAN World Championship organising committee. The ceremony was attended by officials and participants who expressed their heartfelt congratulations to him for the historical achievement brought about in his first appearance in the world championship which was held in Kona, the USA.

The organising committee presented HH Shaikh Nasser with a commemorative gift marking his unique accomplishment as champion of the 40th edition of the world championship which witnessed large participation of around 3000 competitors from all over the world.

HH Shaikh Nasser expressed appreciation of the honour by the organising committee, pointing out that the achievement was brought about after a great effort and successful participation in the championship. He pointed out that  he was able to clinch the first place in the IRONMAN World Championship thanks to the  excellent work of all members of Bahrain team. “We have all been keen in Bahrain Triathlon Team to work and reach goals we participated for, and I have been able to clinch the first place,” HH Shaikh Nasser said, pointing out the outstanding results made by the team members.

“The Bahraini team has been able to achieve the important goal set by participating in the IRONMAN World Championship, in Kona, after leaving a distinguished impression among all about the progress in this sport, in particular, and the Bahraini sports, in general,” HH Shaikh Nasser noted, pointing out that Bahrain has become home to the IRONMAN sport in the Middle East. He also affirmed that Bahrain team will continue their international participation to achieve more positive results and uphold the kingdom’s image worldwide.
