His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa honoured Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) by visiting the Company’s exhibition stand today, February 09, 2016 at the Gulf Industry Fair (GIF) 2016.
GIF 2016, which is being held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa from February 9 – 11, 2015 at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Kingdom of Bahrain, was inaugurated by HRH this morning.
HRH the Premier, accompanied by VIP guests and dignitaries, was welcomed by Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa and the Executive Management at the Alba stand.
Shaikh Daij presented HRH the Premier with a model of Alba smelter and HRH’s portrait made from Alba’s aluminium and by its employees. The model also included pictures of HRH from Alba’s library that highlight HRH’s continuous support to Alba’s growth since its establishment in 1971 till to date.
Expressing his deepest thanks to HRH the Premier, Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors, Shaikh Daij said:
“I would like to extend my utmost thanks and appreciation to HRH the Premier for his generous and continuous contribution towards the growth of aluminium industry in Bahrain and the GCC region. Today, Alba is genuinely honoured to receive HRH and we are grateful for HRH’s instrumental support that made Alba one of the leading aluminium smelters in the world. Also, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for HRH’s continuous support for Alba’s Line 6 Expansion Project, which will make Alba the largest single-site smelter in the world by 2019 with a production capacity of 1.45 million metric tonnes.”
Alba, a major supporter of initiatives that highlight the industrial growth of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has been a key supporter of the GIF. This year, Alba once again renewed its strategic support to GIF 2016, thus underlining the Company’s commitment to support initiatives that showcase Bahrain as an aluminium hub.
Alba has a prominent presence at the GIF 2016 through its exhibition stand where visitors can meet with the Company’s officials and know more about its contribution towards the economic and social development of Bahrain.
