INJAZ Bahrain and HSBC launched the latest edition of the “More than Money” program, marking ten years of partnership between the two entities. The innovative program provides Bahrain’s youth with basic financial literacy skills through academic session. More than 16,900 young Bahraini students at the intermediate school level have benefited from the program over the past ten years, with 1570 students in 35 schools participating during the 2016-2017 academic year.

The program was implemented by 52 dedicated volunteers who shared their professional insight and experience with students to apply this knowledge and succeed in their future. The program educates intermediate students about the fundamentals of business and financial knowledge including career selection and financial planning.

Her Highness Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain praised the program and the partnership saying: “More Than Money is INJAZ Bahrain’s flagship financial literacy program for intermediate students. We believe that students need to understand the basics of financial matters and this program educates students in this respect. We are grateful to HSBC for their longstanding support in promoting this pillar amongst youths which seeks to prepare and educate students as they secure their futures.”

Ms. Melika Betley, CEO of HSBC Bahrain also commented on the program’s benefits: “Our partnership with INJAZ Al Arab & INJAZ Bahrain for the past ten years has been very rewarding. We were able to contribute to the education of young learners as well as give our employee volunteers the opportunity to spend time with the pupils and support the development of their life skills. HSBC focuses its community investment on education with the aim to help young people reach their full potential through access to learning and entrepreneurship.”
