Khaleeji Commercial Bank is a Silver Sponsor of (WIBC)

Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of the leading Islamic retail banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced its participation as a silver sponsor in the World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC), held at the Gulf Hotel from the 1st to the 3rd of December 2015.

Held under the theme “New Realities, New Opportunities”, under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the conference discussed the role of technology in delivering financial services – as a bridge towards greater financial inclusion of the 72 pc of Muslims around the world who do not have access to financial services. The conference attracted more than 1,300 high-level industry attendees from over 50 countries.

The Chief Executive Officer of KHCB, Mr. Khalil Ismaeel Al Meer and other management’s members attended the conference representing KHCB.

Mr. Khalil Ismaeel Al Meer, the CEO of KHCB, expressed his pleasure on the Bank’s participation in a conference of such stature by saying: “We are absolutely pleased to continue sponsoring this event, and would be hoping to continue this collaboration for many years to come. Sponsoring an event, such as WIBC, which is supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain and other Islamic financial institutions working in the Islamic banking industry, demonstrates our enthusiasm to take part in gatherings which represent an important opening for the people in the industry to broaden their perspectives on how to help their institutions achieve further growth.”

“Our participants were able to benefit immensely through the many workshops, presentations and speeches conducted by the pioneers of the industry. The Roundtable session gave an insight into other emerging Islamic finance markets from around the world, which shows the global scale of the event,” he concluded

KHCB’s participation stands as an indication of the Bank’s support of industry initiatives that elevates Bahrain’s position as a favored choice, with regard to hosting high-profile events, such as WIBC, which attracts international leaders in the global Islamic banking and finance industry.
